Qualifications & Affiliations
I am a civil engineer with 8 years experience within the tier one contractor space delivering some of Victoria’s major rail infrastructure projects. These include the Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project within the Rail Infrastructure Alliance (RIA), the Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal Project (CTD) and most recently the South East Program Alliance (SEPA). Through working across numerous construction disciplines to implement various PCBU Management Systems, and having worked across multiple alliances, I have gained valuable skills in both civil, rail, and commercial aspects of complex project delivery.
My time at SEPA will come to a close mid November 2024. This is a contract role within the rail systems team through Laing O Rourke. Initially this was a supporting role for a 90 day occupation to remove the Union & Mont Albert Rd (UMA) level crossings. In the role of a project engineer delivering the Combined Services Route (CSR). This role saw the successful removal of 2 level crossings, planning & delivery of brownfield local CSR routes along a 3-track corridor spanning 3km with 1km of concrete base slab and the commissioning of a new substation.
Upon completion of UMA I transitioned into the Croydon level crossing project within SEPA. Over the course of 18 months, I planned & delivered the OHLE enabling scope across multiple occupations to facilitate the major civil structural campaign. This included a piling campaign, overhead structure install & the slewing of overhead wiring with a budget of $1.1 million. I transitioned back into CSR team to lead the delivery of the enabling & permanent cutover of the CSR & Victrack backbone. Approx 1.6km of trenching & boring through a brownfield environment with key dates to meet, ensuring the critical path program was maintained with an overall budget of $6 million.
Having previous experience in track delivery, my role evolved into a track PE to successfully deliver the track construction in the major commissioning occupation to remove the Coolstore Rd level crossing. This scope included 1.6km of ballast track through an elevated viaduct U-trough and the construction of a Hi-Rail access pad including bulk earthworks, track formation and drainage.
I am currently the lead rail systems engineer with a team of engineers under my guidance, reporting to a rail systems manager. Responsible for the all rail systems defect & punch list items and completion documentation closeout across 4 level crossing projects recently removed by SEPA. Prior to SEPA, I contracted to Seymour Whyte directly on an MRPV project as the Utility lead in the South East suburbs of Melbourne, managing the construction phase of the utility relocation scope for 5km worth of new road alignment. Approximate value of the utility scope was circa $10million split across telecom, water and power relocations to enable the major earthworks scope.
Outside of the infrastructure space, I am engaged with a commercial developer. I manage the civil operations for commercial projects ranging from $1 - $5 million, this includes engineering construction methodologies and procurement phase with the ability to manage civil & FRP scopes of works which include but are not limited to; footings, structural steel, precast panel installation and pavement scopes. Leaning on my previous bulk earthworks, FRP (Form Reo Pour) and structures experience with solid 5 year tenure at CPB in delivery.

Working in with the track team, I was the senior engineering resource for the track discipline during the nightshift period on the 30-day commissioning occupation. Coordinating resources, reporting on planned vs actuals with mitigation strategies. Liaising with the occupation team planners of remaining scope and coordinating with other work groups. Post occupation I lead a small team to close out all track QA to meet tight deadlines as the commissioning event was linked to a major separable portion as part of the overall rail systems scope.

My role at Conform Developments is multifaceted and diverse. Key to this role is critical planning with various subcontractors working across multiple sites concurrently. Understanding suitable current market constraints and availability of materials in relation to procurement long lead items to ensure there is no delay on the overall construction program of the commercial build.
When not on site, my role involves; reviewing upcoming works and engaging with stakeholders to ensure works are carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and standards. I successfully delivered a knock down and rebuild of precast building adjacent to a V-line rail corridor and a high voltage asset within close proximity of the build.Leaning on all previous experience to carefully plan all works in accordance with V-line, Vic Track and Ausnet’s stringent permit requirements.
When delivering a scope of works package, I am on site to manage/supervise works to ensure high standards are maintained and a quality product is achieved. In the event of missing information or constructability is not achievable, I’m able to lean on my first principles knowledge to come up with alternative solutions with the collaboration of experienced subcontractors and communicate this back to the design engineers for approval.
