Cameron played an integral role supporting the Southern Program Alliance, a significant level crossing removal program of works in Melbourne’s south-east. In the role of Senior Project Manager, he was responsible for a unique and broad range of responsibilities. He facilitated the projects controls roll out, as well as management of the overarching procurement and contract administration system. Cameron was heavily involved in developing and refining the finance and reporting process, and also played a leading role in the procurement teams' strategy and approach to future works packages. His work in procurement largely involved the development and delivery of the procurement strategy for the future works stages, analysis of procurement options, market engagement, preparation of tender documentation and tender evaluation support.

Safe System Road Infrastructure Program – VicRoads | May 2018 – April 2019

Cameron was responsible for the rollout and delivery of approximately $120m of road safety upgrades in VicRoads’ North-East Region for the Safe System Road Infrastructure Program (SSRIP). In this role, he took over management of legacy projects under duress and successfully negotiated down variations and suspension of works claims. As a Senior Project Engineer, Cameron led a team of engineers and site supervisors to plan and deliver Rail Systems - Combine Services Route (CSR) works between Caulfield Station and the new Pakenham East High Capacity Train Depot.

This scope of work included:
• Managing a large team of eight engineers and three supervisors spread across 60km of work fronts

Leighton Contractors will deliver critical onshore infrastructure associated with the processing plant, which includes two 4.2 MTPA LNG trains.

As Project Engineer – Earthworks (Underground Services), Cameron’s responsibilities included:

• Planning, maintaining and monitoring construction programs and completion of underground services activities
• Organising, designing and implementing temporary works and infrastructure as required
• Preparing work packages, documentation and quality requirements for tender by potential subcontractors
• Ensuring the works between subcontractors is coordinated with minimal interface disruptions

As Project Engineer, Cameron’s role involved estimating for major tenders, budget control and reporting, and implementing new processes and procedures for financial reporting, cost control, OH&S and quality assurance. The project scope included the demolition and reinstatement of damaged sections of the bridge structure and rail components caused by a freight train derailment on the Wodonga Rail Bypass. The project was undertaken in a live rail environment.

Cameron’s responsibilities included:
• Management of site establishment and approvals
• Design, implementation and supervision of demolition and reinstatement of damaged bridge sections
• Design, implementation and supervision of earthworks
• Supervision of up to 15 workforce personnel

Cameron was responsible for the coordination and management of drainage and conduit works in the Ringwood North area. Works included the installation of stormwater drainage including roadside pits, swale drains, concrete pipes and subsoil drainage.
