Australian-based consulting firm focused on specialised project & management in Industrial projects and undertook various work on both the client side and contractor 'hard dollar' projects. 

Projects 

ASMTI Program – Urban Operations Live Fire Program 

Senior Project Manager for the Design & Construction of the ASMTI- Urban Operations Live Fire project for Casa Engineering. The UOLF project requires designing, fabricating, and constructing 30 urban live fire training/simulation buildings utilising precast concrete panels fitting with Ballistic Plate for Military training. This mini-city provides the armed forces various training options and simulations for Urban warfare. 

Downer IPD - High Capacity Metro Train Project - Value $ 360M 

Engineering Manager for the HCMT Heavy Rail Depot Project in Victoria. This project was for the new High Capacity Metro Train (HCMT) stabling and maintenance facility, including over 20 km of track, test track & return loop, 26,000 sq./m of building(s) and Specialist Equipment installation. The HCMT Project will be Australia's largest rail maintenance facility upon completion. 

Country Fire Authority - Value $35M 

Project Lead for the D&C of the new CFA training facility in Ballan. This greenfield site required initial Project master planning, stakeholder coordination and government liaison to deliver this new 20H site with five live fire simulation training areas. 

Metro Trains Melb-Station Integration Program -Value $110M 

Projects Manager for MTM Station Transport Integration program. This project was for the D&C of Metro train station transport interchange upgrades over nine stations. These projects required a multi-discipline approach to minimise service interruption and deliver modern transport interchange stations. They incorporated the multipurpose redevelopment of the station's precincts, including the transport interchange. 

Regional Rail Authority Western Link Project 

Project Consultant to the Regional Rail Link Authority in the Western Link (Melbourne) design development. The RRLA was established to design & construct a separate rail corridor for all V/Line trains from the main Geelong/Western Rail to Southern Cross Station. 

V/Line V/locity Train Service Depot Project - $11M 

Project Manager for the design & construction of the V/Line Velocity Train Terminal Maintenance & Refuelling facilities at Ballarat, Bendigo, Traralgon and Geelong. The project required the construction of new sidings and 60,0001 Fuel storage facilities, train wash and service platforms at each location, including working with Heritage Victoria on the listed buildings in Ballarat & Bendigo. 

Incitec Pivot Limited – Brisbane - Value $14.5M 

Projects Manager for Incitec Pivot Limited at the Gibson Island nitrogen manufacturing facility; currently managing several Site projects, including refurbishing the Pinkenba Wharf and consulting on redrafting the Project Management Systems for the Engineering Group. 

GrainCorp Limited – Heavy Rail Loadouts - Value $250M 

Project Consultant for the nationwide review into their 'Project Rejuvenation', which was to rationalise their 450+ grain handling sites to 300 bulk receiving centres in Qld, NSW & Victoria. This project required new heavy rail out-loading facilities at 40 inland terminals and three export Ports. 

Lion Co - Toohey's Brewery - Value $25M 

Project Director for the LionCo Waste Water treatment facility for the Toohey's Brewery - Lidcombe. This $25M project was for the design & construction of their on-site 40m/l waste-water treatment plant. 

Federation Square – Melbourne Value $32M 

Project Manager for Alfasi Constructions for the design, fabrication and erection of the new Federation Square Museum of Australian Art's structural steel superstructure, including all architectural steel finishes. As the Project Manager, he undertook the programming, procurement, cost control and QA system implementation through construction management and project delivery. 

The New Museum of Victoria – Value $28M 

Project Manager for the design, fabrication & erection of the superstructure for Alfasi/Baulderstone. This demanding project was for constructing architectural finished structural steel on the new Museum of Victoria, including the 'Gallery of Life' structure, which will be the centrepiece of the new facility. As project manager, he was engaged to ensure the project met its objective and to recover from the programming delays and cost overruns. Extensive consultation was required to ensure the site workforce could meet expectations, overcome IR issues, and ensure high QA compliance. 

City West Shopping Plaza & Commercial Business Park Value $22M 

Engaged by City West as Project Manager for the redevelopment of the former RAAF base Footscray into the new City West Shopping Centre and business park. The project involved property subdivision for an industrial park followed by the management of the D&C of multiple Commercial buildings and the principal project responsibilities for supervising contractors in the D&C of the City West Shopping Centre and various retail outlets. 

PACIFIC NATIONAL | PROJECT MANAGER Imagineering Pty Limited | 1992 - 1998 

As Projects Manager - Melbourne Airport Redevelopment, he managed the internal and external project resources team, consulted on the project strategic plan and business outcomes and continued to the project delivery phase and site management of the redevelopment. Imagineering specialised in delivering project outcomes for the client and provided expert project management, including the construction & refurbishment of the commercial area, materials handling facilities & industrial infrastructure of Melbourne Airport. Other projects included Cold Storage Facilities, Industrial Developments and Nissan Australia's Automated warehouse facility. 

STATE MANAGER 

Thomas and Coffey | 1989-1992 

As State Manager, he managed the project management team that delivered several commercial projects, including the construction & refurbishment of several ColesMyer distribution centres, the expansion of the CUB Brewery distribution centre, and the structure of the 'Tubemakers' pipe production facility. His responsibilities as State Manager included corporate administration, business development, cost centre profitability, project management and general management of around 60 staff.

John Holland | 1982-1988 

Project Engineer on the Loy Yang power station, inclusive of the design & construction of the coal transfer bunker main cooling water pumping system. Associated piping and heavy civil works associated with structural foundations 

CADET AND PROJECT ENGINEER 

Johns Perry Group | 1979-1982 

He commenced his career as a cadet engineer with the Johns Perry Group, including the Johns & Waygood and Johns & Arnold companies. His training included overseas appointments to New Zealand and Asia. He worked on various heavy industrial & mining projects, including projects with New Zealand Steel, the container handling facility for the Port of Singapore and the 'Drecro' sand mining project in Sri Lanka.
