Working with John Holland, Jimmy provided Senior Project Engineering support to the team delivering the Urban Superway Rectification Project (Valued at $55m). This project involved the removal and replacement of approx. 13km of steel guard rail, along with the remediation of noise and anti throw walls due to excessive corrosion on the North South Connector in Wingfield, constructed in 2014. Being involved in the early stages of planning through to the commencement of delivery, Jimmy was heavily involved in the planning and set up of this project.

As a member of the West Gate Tunnel, Zone 401 Project Team Jimmy was Involved in the planning and delivery of the Maribyrnong River Crossings Steel Superstructure (Bridge 50, 51 and 52) and associated enabling works, including managing design and construction of crane pads, temporary roads and temporary structures.

Primary Responsibilities:
> Review design drawings and develop efficient methodologies to execute works
> Budget and forecasting for construction activities including monthly reporting and accruals
> Development of construction programmes and advise supervisors of opportunities for best performance
> Develop temporary works briefs, liaising with designers to manage from concept through to delivery
> Ensure works are executed to a high quality through workplace inspections, while managing and documenting quality via the development of inspection and test plans
> Manage HSE performance on site through the development of SWMS and Enablon safety inspections
> Oversee daily construction activities on site, including sub-contractor management and designer interface
> Development of lift plans for the installation of Steel Box and Trough Girders via 1600T and 650T Crawler Cranes

SITE ENGINEER, BALLARAT LINE UPGRADE ($500m)
Lend Lease Engineering | February 2018 – September 2019

As a key member of the Project Team delivering the $500m Ballarat Line Upgrade in Victoria Jimmy was heavily involved in bulk earthworks and construction of rail formation, including the coordination of clearing and grubbing works as well as the placement of over 130,000 tonne of structural fill and 60,000 tonne of ballast to complete 18km of track duplication. Jimmy also contributed to the successful delivery of the level crossing and drainage works throughout the project, particularly from Caroline Springs to Ballan.

Primary Responsibilities:
> Oversaw the daily construction activities on site, including sub-contractor management and designer interface
> Managed Health, Safety, and Environmental performance on site through the development of Safe Work Method Statements and Enablon safety inspections
> Managed all work permits including penetration permits, lift studies, environmental permits and VicTrack Permits to Work
> Ensured works were executed to a high quality through inspections, while managing and documenting quality via the development of inspection and test plans
> Liaised with V Line representatives to ensure hold points were met and positive relations were maintained
> Developed construction programmes and worked closely with leading hands and supervisors to execute works efficiently and optimize programme
> Tracked costs and productivity through methods such as Construction LEAN

Jimmy Joined the CPB Contractors Water Team as a Site Engineer to assist in the delivery of the following projects, as part of the $350m Melbourne Water Framework Agreement.

Troups Creek West Wetland Rectification & Hallam Bypass Retarding Basin Upgrade
Narre Warren ($2.5m) | June 2017 – Feb. 2018

Jimmy managed the delivery of The Troups Creek West Wetland Rectification and Hallam Bypass Retarding Basin Upgrade, located in Narre Warren, Victoria. These projects encompassed bulk earthworks as well as the placement of materials under strict geotechnical conditions, drainage works and concrete works. Managing the water flow within the wetland and sequencing the works correctly has been vital to the early success of this project.

Riddell Road (Wantirna), Lysterfield West and Narre Warren North Melbourne Water
Retarding Basin Upgrades ($4m) | Sep. 2016 – May 2017

Jimmy oversaw the design and construction of three retarding basin upgrades. He was heavily involved in bulk earthworks and the placement of clay, crushed rock and filter sand under strict geotechnical parameters as well as some critical concrete works. Each of these sites were in close proximity to residential properties, therefore construction methods and strategies were carefully developed to ensure impact on the community was minimised.

GRADUATE ENGINEER, NEW ROYAL ADELAIDE HOSPITAL ($2.4b)
Hansen Yunken Leighton Contractors JV | March 2016 – September 2016

The $2.4bn New Royal Adelaide Hospital was the largest infrastructure project in South Australia’s history. Joining the project team during the final push to eliminate defects ahead of completion.

Jimmy’s duties included:
> Managing over 30 sub-contractors to achieve the delivery of more than 1000 inpatient, outpatient and intensive care unit rooms throughout 8 levels of the hospital
> Analysing technical drawings, wall elevations and reflected ceiling plans
> Conducting site inspections to ensure work was completed in adherence to rigid infection control requirements
> Managing independent Certifier inspections
> Evaluating, monitoring and cataloguing defects using iSnag

JUNIOR CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER
City of West Torrens | February 2015 – March 2016

Working with City of West Torrens Jimmy worked on a number of maintenance projects. Primary responsibilities during his time with City of West Torrens included:
