Site Engineer working on the Dublin Rd LXR project during the occupation. Responsible for all the civil and stations scope.

MLU PLATFORM EXTENSIONS| CONSTRUCTABILITY ADVISOR
LXRP | April 2024 – May 2024

Alongside Agonis SMEs, Jye played a key role in providing constructability advice to LXRP for the proposed Melton Line Upgrade (MLU) platform extensions, incorporating Deer Park, Caroline Springs, Rockbank and Cobblebank stations. The assignment provides inputs towards the introduction of longer trains on the Melton line and the future-proofing of stations under the Western Rail Plan, considering the potential for line electrification to Melton.

NORTH AUCKLAND LINE STORM RECOVERY | PROJECT SITE ENGINEER
Martinus New Zealand | February 2024 – April 2024

Martinus New Zealand was engaged by KiwiRail to conduct Rail Recovery works on the North Auckland Line (NAL), following Cyclone Gabrielle in February 2023. Following the award of three major civil works packages, Jye was engaged by Martinus to support the construction and engineering team at the major overslip site, 2 hours North of Auckland. The onsite team removed up to 800 cubic metres of slip material offsite, installed subsurface drainage, and hydro-mulched for erosion control.

Implementation of site-specific environmental controls and consideration of site logistical constraints also contributed to project success.

Responsibilities

  • Material procurement, including raising Purchase Orders;
  • Construction Methodology planning;
  • Sub-contractor engagement and management;
  • Quality assurance.

LXRP PROCESS REVIEW | TECHNICAL SUPPORT
LXRP | January 2024

WGA and Agonis Group were engaged by the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) team to conduct a review of the Engineering Design Assurance Process. Interviews were conducted with key stakeholders to the process, and recommendations were presented to LXRP. Jye was involved in the interview process, interpretation of findings, analysis and report writing.

V/LINE THIRD PARTY ACCESS | ACCESS ENGINEER
V/Line | July 2022 – December 2023

Jye’s secondment to V/Line has seen him working in an interface role with a variety of major projects, such as the West Gate Tunnel (WGT) Project and the Melbourne Airport Rail (MAR) Project. His role was critical to ensure compliance with V/Line’s site access and works readiness requirements.

Jyes attention to detail and information management skills contributed to his success as an Access Engineer, as well as working to critical timeframes and meeting on-site with contractors to discuss project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Access management and site access permits;
  • Stakeholder consultation and management;
  • Weekly project interface meetings;
  • Site investigations, including rail corridor access.

MURRAY BASIN RAIL PROJECT (MBRP) | ACCESS ADMINISTRATOR
Coleman Rail | March 2022 – June 2022

Jye’s engagement with Coleman Rail saw him in an Access Administrator role for the Murray Basin Rail Project (MBRP). His primary interface was between the Coleman Rail Engineering team, V/Line Third Party Access, and V/Line Works Readiness. Jye became familiar with managing a variety of stakeholders to facilitate Coleman Rails Access requirements in a very short period.

  • V/Line Works Readiness submissions;
  • V/Line Third Party Access application development and submission;
  • Weekly project interface meetings.

V/LINE ANNUAL WORKS PROGRAM | PROJECT ENGINEER
V/Line | June 2021 – December 2021

Jye worked directly under the Program Delivery Manager for the V/Line Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) Annual Works Plan (AWP) to assist with project planning activities. He produced a range of deliverables, including pre-occupation scope presentations, requests for tenders, resources, and procurement as well as contractor engagement activities. This assisted the delivery team in preparation for the major AWP scope delivery.

V/LINE ASSET CAPABILITY UPLIFT PROGRAM | ASSET AUDIT COORDINATOR
V/Line | September 2021 – October 2021

Jye was assigned to facilitate the upload of asset condition data into the V/Line asset register. This task involved the translation of large-scale data sets using MS Excel for upload to the Asset Register - V/One. Jye’s contributions improved V/Line lifecycle modelling capabilities and provided recommendations for future iterations of the capability uplift initiative.

  • System knowledge and expertise (MS Suite and V/One);
  • Analysis for recommendation.
