He commenced the project with the commercial  team to work on a project claim regarding existing blocked conduits that have  considerably impacted the cable hauling works. The exercise aimed to gather  as much data as possible to demonstrate that an unreasonable percentage of  blockage was encountered in the stakeholder’s assets, considerably slowing  down the progress of the cable hauling works.

He assisted the ITS (Intelligent  Transport System) team in restructuring the tracking process of civil works  and quality. The challenge with reorganising and gathering all documents  required for the ITS civil works lots closure in three short months.

Phillipe joined the quality team to  support the management of the remaining Works Lots closure, Non-conformances,  design change notice and drawings management and developed a strong  understanding of “Teambinder”.

Thomson East Coast Line |  Senior Tunnel Engineer and Risk Manager (Feb 2014 – Jul 2017)

Gammon Construction

As a Senior Tunnel Engineer, he managed  the construction of a 150m underpass tunnel using a revolutionary Rectangular  Boring Machine, reporting the tunnel progress to the stakeholders and addressing  their questions and main concerns about the project. In addition, he  coordinated ground improvement works required for the boring machine to  proceed with excavation (Wet Speed Mixing and Jet Grouting Piles).

Responsibilities

  • He was employed as Capacity  of Risk and Temporary Works Manager to drive and implement a strict Risk  culture within the project. Duties included chairing weekly risk management  meetings with the stakeholders and maintaining a corporate risk register for  monthly reporting. In addition to organising fortnightly risk workshops with  subcontractors and stakeholders, he implemented a Dynamic Risk Assessment  Campaign on-site to sensitise site engineers on risk reporting;
