Project Engineer – Pakenham Level Crossing Removal | May 2022 – Dec 2023
- Plan, program, and sequence track works for the Viaduct build, offline Stage 4, and Stage 5 occupation tie-in works.
- Prepare rail takeoffs and quality assurance documents.
- Conduct stock takes and procure rail-specific materials, equipment, and plant, including weld kits, rail, turnouts, and ballast.
- Prepare forecasts and budgets for self-performed track work.
- Plan, program, and sequence civil works (hardstands, overland drainage, track formation, L wall subgrade prep, and backfill) for Pakenham West.
- Monitor and review permanent designs at each stage gate.
- Coordinate temporary design development with geotechnical engineers for hardstands.
- Develop models for hardstands, considering final design, site drainage, and temporary flood modeling.
- Arrange and oversee tenders for hardstand, track formation, and civil profiles.
- Complete tender analyses, present findings to senior management, and award contracts.
- Develop and present Activity Method Statements (AMS) and project management plans before work commencement.
- Prepare documentation required by Metro Trains for occupations.
- Attend and present at occupation planning T-minus meetings.
- Prepare and present forecasts for cost codes totaling $21 million.

Project Engineer – Claremont Station Project (Finishing Works), Western Australia | Dec 2021 – May 2022
- Plan, program, and sequence works for the project.
- Track and monitor costs incurred on a shift-by-shift basis.
- Oversee civil works, including car park, roadworks, bus interchange upgrades, and landscaping.
- Manage hydraulic rectification work to secure occupancy for Claremont Station.
- Develop and review safety and quality documentation (TRA, ITP, Weld Maps).
- Coordinate the sign-off and submission of ITPs, plumbing certificates, and inspections with Main Roads/Town of Claremont.

- Coordinate logistics for the delivery of track materials (sleepers, rail, ballast) and plant/tools.
- Collaborate with traffic management to develop necessary work plans.
- Manage temporary works for laydown areas across 13 sites between Kalgoorlie and Esperance.
- Procure plant, labor, materials, and subcontractors for project execution.
- Develop and review safety and quality documentation (TRA, ITP).
- Define project scope and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQ).
Site Engineer – Claremont Station Project, Western Australia | Jan 2021 – May 2021
- Plan, program, and sequence work for an 8-week Degraded Mode of Operation (DMO).
- Track and monitor costs on a shift-by-shift basis.
- Oversee track and civil works, including formation, ballast matting, ballasting, sleeper laying, welding, and resurfacing.
- Collaborate with other disciplines (OLE, MCR, drainage) to prevent clashes and coordinate activities.
- Coordinate logistics for the delivery of track and civil materials and manage carting of excess materials to the laydown yard.
- Issue track signage packages to subcontractors for execution.
- Develop and review safety and quality documentation (TRA, ITP, Weld Maps).

During my time at Downer, I gained valuable experience in procurement and cost estimation while working on a major project valued at over $200 million. This role taught me the critical importance of carefully segmenting the scope of work to prevent scope gaps.

- Quantity Take-offs: Conducted complete quantity take-offs for design phases, including preliminary, final, and issued-for- construction stages.
