Site Engineer / OHW Engineer | Dec 2021 - Present

JOHN HOLLAND RAIL NEW ZEALAND – P2P Electrification project

  • Experience in delivering works safely during bi-directional and BOLs.
  • Involved in installation of CSR and sub-ducting works.
  • Manage and co-ordinate formation works, and drainage works for rail crossovers.
  • In charge for constructing access road connecting new station platform area.
  • Lead in charge of enabling works (potholing, geotechnical testing) prior to OLE foundation works.
  • Lead in charge of foundation works (concrete & steel) for OLE.
  • Conduct pre-pour inspections and Invite designers and client for the inspections and participate with them in the inspection
  • Lead in charge of Earthing and bonding works as the part of Overhead wire run works. Quality checks for OHLE works.
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure works are adequately coordinated with other subcontractors and John Holland team.
  • Identify scope items or areas that require more detail and write appropriate requests for information (RFIs).
  • Ensure production schedules are up to date in the live “tracker” within a day of activity being completed and ensure complete accuracy around works undertaken and completed.
  • Ensure site diaries have been completed accurately for all work.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the 12-week lookahead planning for the works package(s), ensuring accuracy around the plan.
  • Ensure the works are completed in accordance with design requirements and quality assurance (QA) checks are being carried out to ensure compliance with works specific QA documents. Ensure NCRs are identified and raised in accordance with project KRA requirements.
  • Compile, review and maintain project quality documentation (ITPs and check sheets) required to complete the works packages to ensure these are issued to the client in accordance with project requirements.
  • Procure and track stock levels of all materials supplying for the work scope, doing a month end stoke take to assess stock levels against remaining scope and identify any shortfalls.
  • Support Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers to update cost tracking spreadsheet.
  • Ensure as-built drawings and redline mark-up drawings are completed to ensure project and programme requirements are met.
  • Develop, draft and or review activity methods statements (AMS) and task risk assessments (TRA).
  • Review task risk assessments with Supervisors.
  • Complete on-site safety, environment and quality checks and audits to meet project requirements and meet KRA requirements.
  • Forge dig permits, hot work permits etc. for the activities executed on site as part of health and safety requirement.
  • Conduct prestart and brief on any health and safety incidents happened on project before, discuss among work crew and take relevant measures to avoid such situations on site.
