• Design interaction - raising RFIs regarding design discrepancies

• Interface responsibilities included the interaction between the client and West Gate Tunnel

Project Description:

The Pound Road West upgrade is part of the broader $3.4 billion Suburban Roads Upgrade – South Eastern and Northern Roads project. The project is jointly funded by the Federal Government ($1.14 billion) and the State Government ($2.27 billion). Pound Road West upgrade project in Melbourne is set to improve access in and around the Dandenong South employment hub.

The project comprises of the following:
- 2km Pound Road West duplication (connection between Abbotts Road and South Gippsland Highway)
- Modification of two existing traffic signalised intersections and construction of two new signalised intersections
- Construction of new shared walking and cycling paths

Role and responsibilities:

• Predominantly part of the delivery team for multiple road occupation works
• Procurement and Resource Management throughout Project(s) duration
• Managing subcontractors and client representatives
• Planning and sequencing construction activities
• Design interaction - raising RFIs regarding design discrepancies

• The Level Crossing Removal Program (LXRP) is one of the Victorian Government's key transport infrastructure projects. Part of an overarching policy to improve Melbourne's transport network, its stated aim is to remove 50 of the most dangerous and congested level crossings in Melbourne with an overall budget of $8.3 billion. The Preston level crossings at Murray Road, Cramer Street, Bell Street and Oakover Road, were
  removed by raising the Mernda rail line over the roads

Project Description:
Western Program Alliance (WPA) – Old Geelong Road, Hoppers Crossing Level Crossing Removal Project (Carpark construction, service installations at structure interface, major road intersection upgrade)

• The $355.5 million package saw two dangerous level crossings removed in Melbourne’s west. This was followed by the creation of a road bridge near the Old Geelong Road level crossing in Hoppers Crossing and a rail bridge over the Werribee Street level crossing in Werribee

Role and responsibilities:

• Managing civil and road works in the northern precinct area (OGR1) at the interface of the newly developed pedestrian bridge
• Construction and coordination with structural teams
• Planning, programming and developing construction execution strategies for multiple work packages
• Managing a team consisting of supervisors and graduate engineers
• Liaising with subcontractors, DOT and City West Water
• Procurement and Resource Management throughout Project(s) duration
• ITP review and implementation, closing lots and punch lists
• Raising IRFIs regarding design discrepancies
