  • Coordinating, scheduling and driving works to hit project milestones.
  • Liaising with architects, other engineering teams and consultants to resolve design clashes.
  • Developing inspection test plans and conducting inspections to meet quality requirements.
  • Reviewing shop drawings.
  • Facilitating the weekly subcontractor meeting and holding subcontractors accountable.

Graduate Site Engineer, Level Crossing Removal Project (Feb 2021 - July 2022)

During my time as graduate I was embedded with the South Eastern Program Alliance working on the Union Road Mont Albert level crossing removal. Some of my responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of the structures package (piling, capping beams and shotcrete). This involved both the project coordination and contract administration activities.
  • Weekly program and procurement updates using P6 and PRISM.
  • Working with engineering leads to coordinate and manage programme schedule.
  • Assisting senior planners with developing an hour-by-hour program for the upcoming rail occupation.
  • Working with alliance partner, external stakeholders, and subject matter experts to drive various productivity initiatives across the organisation.
  • Mapping and tracking of indirect costs of alliance partners, followed by the development of a matrix to standardise how indirect costs are recorded by alliance partners.

Leading hand/ site supervisor, Subcontracted to various builders performing carpentry works and supervision (2018 - 2021)

I led a crew of carpenters for over four years subcontracting out to builders in both the residential and commercial space where I have had the opportunity to work on many high-end residential projects, shop fit outs and large-scale commercial projects. I have had experience both as a leading hand and supervisor for many builders. My key responsibilities in those roles included:

  • Assisting builders with the planning and scheduling of works
  • Interfacing with client
  • Supervising and coordinating trades on site
  • Leading pre starts and safety inductions
  • Ensuring all contractors on site had up todate tickets, correct PPE and were adhering to the site OHS protocols at all times
  • Conducting quality inspections and reviewing sign offs to ensure all works have been done to meet the relevant standards and building codes
  • Liaising with design team, suppliers, and other supervisors to ensure successful completion of projects
  • Liaising with other teams on site and other project managers to minimise disruptions and maximise productivity
